Advanced Yoga Poses: Techniques & Instruction


#1. Yoga Advanced - Upward bow pose
Lie on your back. Firmly press your feet against the floor. Press your hands against the floor at the level of your ears. Push with your hands and feet lifting your pelvis and thighs. Put the crown of your head on the mat. Move some of the weight on your hands. Raise your head and let it hang freely. As you go back, go down on your head first.

#2. Yoga Advanced - Crane pose
Squat down. Put your palms on the floor and straighten your legs. Press your knees against your shoulder bone closer to your armpits. Move your weight forward to your arms and try to lift your feet from the floor. Balance on your hands.

#3. Yoga Advanced - Lord of the dance right
Stand up straight. Bend your left leg and grab your left shin with your left hand. Stretch your right arm forward. Bend your torso forward, as you pull your left leg up.

#4. Yoga Advanced - Pigeon pose with one-hand left leg grab
Lower your right thigh and shin on the mat. Keep your left leg straight. Press your hands against the floor and arch softly. Bend your left leg. Try to grab your left shin with your left hand. Press your right hand against the floor to the right of your foot. Pull your left shin back, arch more. Look up.

#5. Yoga Advanced - Warrior pose on left foot
Put your feet shoulder-width apart. Rotate both feet 90 degrees to the left. Bend forward, stretching your arms and rising your right leg parallel to the floor. Try to keep your arms, back and right leg in one line. Look down.

#6. Yoga Advanced - Supported headstand
Stand up on your knees. Clasp your hands. Lower your elbows and hands on the mat with your little fingers facing the mat. Lower your head on the mat and clutch it with your palms. Move your legs closer to your torso. Achieve balance without lifting your feet. As you are ready, lift your feet and gradually straighten your legs up. Balance on your head, supporting your balance with your hands and elbows.

#7. Yoga Advanced - Both big toes pose
Sit down with your legs bent. Grab your toes with two fingers. Without letting go of your toes, straighten your legs up. Keep your back straight. Balance on your pelvic bones.

#8. Yoga Advanced - Dove pose from diamond pose
Sit on your heels. Press your palms against the floor behind your back. Softly start to go down back, first on your elbows, then the crown of your head. Arch your back. Press your palms against the floor near your ears. Start to move your hands close to your feet, lifting your thighs up and forward. Try to straighten your arms as you reach your edge.

#9. Yoga Advanced - Unsupported shoulderstand, hands behind back
Lie on your back with your legs bent and feet flat on the floor. Bring your feet behind your head. Clasp your hands behind your back. Stretch your arms to make your body perpendicular to the floor. Press your hands against your back. Raise your straight feet perpendicular to the floor. Clasp your hands and lay them onto the mat behind your back.

#10. Yoga Advanced - Bridge pose with right leg up
Lie on your back. Firmly press your feet against the floor. Press your hands against the floor at the level of your ears. Push with your hands and feet lifting your pelvis and thighs. Move some of the weight on your hands. Put you left foot in the center and lift your right leg. Straighten your right leg. Let your head hang freely.
